Framing – Untreated Lumber

Framing – Untreated Lumber is the most commonly used, and best-known, of all lumber types that we offer. This type of wood is used for most jobs and needs to be protected from the elements and open environment to maintain long-standing structural integrity.

The species offered for framing lumber are often specific to geographic environments. The most prevalent species in our market are Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF), Hemlock-Fir (Hem-Fir), and Southern Yellow Pine (SYP).

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We deliver to multiple locations in Maryland including the DMV area.

Untreated can be exposed to the elements during construction, but the final use needs to be weather protected and installed in an area that is not exposed to the elements.

Yes! Every type of untreated or framing lumber that we provide has been kiln-dried.
The lumber that we offer has been dried to an acceptable moisture content. This allows the lumber to maintain its structural integrity and shape better than lumber that would be exposed to natural drying. Additionally, the kiln-drying process also eliminates pests or bacteria that may be in the lumber.
